Mugani Désiré known professionally, as BIG FIZZO, is a Burundian singer, songwriter and recently producer. He started out as a dancer, and then devoted himself completely to music by being part of a group called NiggaSoul. The group quickly broke up after the sudden death of one of its components. He began singing solo after being discovered by a great Burundian artist Kidumu, who decided to take him on in Kenya where he lived. He released his first song entitled Mbarira; in 2001, then in 2002 he released Sito penda tena; Mambo juu ya Mambo, since then he has had to keep releasing hits. His success is also based on his ability to sing in several languages, among others French, English,
Kiswahili, Lingala, Kinyarwanda and Kirundi, his mother tongue. He has 2 albums: JEWE which was released in 2009 composed of 17 songs, FIZZOLOGY in 2017 composed of 23 songs, DESIDERATUS and LEGENDARY in 2020. A double album composed of 35 songs. Big Fizzo has done and continues to perform concerts in Burundi and in the four corners of the world, like in the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, South Africa, Rwanda, Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, etc. He collaborated with international artists like Ice Prince, East African artists like Harmonaze, Charly na
Nina, Tom Close, Dj Pius, Safi Madiba, TID, and many more. In 2017 he founded“Bantubwoy Entertainment” of which he is a part and where he produced local artists like Double Jay, Kirikou Akili, Elly’s Bwoy, DramaT, Msamaria and Joli and guided them one to one to success. He wants to give a boost to Burundian artists and help young talents to produce quality works so that they, in turn, can emerge and invite them to do the same to others.
